My name is Keegan Lynch and I am from Seattle, Washington. I became interested in photography at an early age after my Dad bought my Mom a DSLR. Throughout middle school and high school, I worked on the school yearbook and became familiar with Photoshop and other Adobe programs. During my junior year of high school, I took a summer course on the foundations of art at a college in my city. After being exposed to the wide world of art I decided to make art practices my major and eventually added in a minor in TAM. My passion for art stems from a wide variety of experiences I have had with professionals in the industry and peers. I enjoy the collaborative nature of digital art and how it can be used for so many different purposes. My approach to art has always been through experimentation. I believe that any skill can be mastered with enough time. The majority of my work involves street photography and surrealistic photo manipulations. When I am taking photos I strive to capture the entire essence of a place or a person. I like capturing the weird and forgotten people of different places. I became interested in surrealistic artwork after visiting a Dali museum while on vacation with my family. When I came home I began watching tutorials for photoshop on youtube and begged my dad to buy me the program. Initially, all I wanted to do was create funny pictures and try to create my own version of different Dali pieces. Over time I began to broaden my use of photoshop to create designs for clothing that I would sell in order to fund a club at my high school that would host open mics. It was exhilarating to watch the clothes sell out and then see people wearing them the next day. While I was in the club I also designed posters that were used to advertise the open mics. Another part of that experience that I enjoyed was working with other people on the designs. It was fun to watch other artists be surprised when so many people ended up liking their t-shirt or poster design.
